This course helped to strengthen Spanish grammar and writing skills, with an emphasis on vocabulary, structure, clauses and phrases. The course helped to improve accuracy in written assignments composed in Spanish.

SPAN 3150

Spanish for Health Professionals

This course focused on Spanish medical concepts and terminology. It allowed for practice in conducting clinical scenarios in Spanish, which was beneficial for students looking to work in a  healthcare setting. The course also helped in developing an understanding of the perceptions of health as they relate to things like traditional medicine and the influence of religion on medicinal practices in Latinx communities.

SPAN 4180

Technical Spanish for Health Management Professionals

Technical health communication course in Spanish with emphasis on managerial and business aspects of the international health industry. Helped to develop understanding of processes related to healthcare provision, decentralization, and aspects of quality, accessibility and coverage in Latin American countries.

The SPAN 4180 sample work demonstrates writing proficiency through an extensive literature review and analysis of the Argentine healthcare system.
